Karyn began her career with the Coastal Conservancy in 1987, working on natural resource enhancement projects throughout coastal California and San Francisco Bay. She moved into the North Coast position in 1998. During her tenure at the Coastal Conservancy she has worked on projects that have protected more than 150,000 acres of redwood forest, working lands, coastal dunes, and wetlands. She has also been involved with projects that restored salmon habitat and provided public access to California’s coast.
Karyn holds a BA degree in Geography from the University of California at Berkeley, and a MA in Geography with a Concentration in Resource Management and Environmental Planning from San Francisco State University. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and camping along the coast with her husband Cliff, daughter Carly, and trusty dog Abby.
