A 2018 Standard NAWCA Grant leverages partner contributions for birds.
Congratulations to Ducks Unlimited and its project partners who received a 2018 North American Wetlands Conservation Act (NAWCA) grant this spring.
The project is within the North Puget Lowlands Ecoregion in Washington, long recognized by Pacific Birds and partners as a key region for Pacific Flyway waterfowl. The multiple project parcels will conserve a total of 1,536 acres, including freshwater wetlands, estuaries, shorelines, riparian forests, and agricultural lands.
A dozen partners are involved across the region. The federal, million dollar grant will be leveraged with 2.7 million dollars in matching, non-federal funds.
