Have you been wanting to do a NAWCA grant but not sure where to start?
You might consider starting with our first NAWCA webinar! The North American Wetlands Conservation Act Grant Program has funded conservation projects in wetlands and associated upland habitats for 30 years. Pacific Birds' partners in the U.S. have protected nearly 200,000 acres, using the Small Grants and Standard Grants programs.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, who administers the program, recommends starting with a Small Grant if you are new to the program and the other criteria fit. (And we agree.) The first webinar will provide an overall program overview as well as information specific to the Small Grants program. Molly Doran, Executive Director of Skagit Land Trust, will co-present, sharing their insights and successes with Small NAWCA grants.
In the second webinar, we will focus on the Standard Grants Program–when your project needs up to $1,000,000 in grant funds. This presentation will start with an overview, and discuss how your project can be more competitive. We will also offer advice and tips on the technical questions, scoring criteria, match and budget, and other program details. Glenn Lamb, Executive Director of Columbia Land Trust, will co-present and share how they have used both Small and Standard NAWCA grants (nine times!) to conserve habitats important to birds and other fish and wildlife species.

Please note: Both webinars are intended for U.S. audiences, and the emphasis will be on helping partners in the Pacific Birds region get started with NAWCA (Webinar I) or help partners navigate the Standard Grant application (Webinar II). Both webinars will provide some overview and tips and tools for success.
