We are excited to welcome Monica Iglecia to Pacific Birds, starting Monday, February 1st. Monica will serve as the U.S. Coordinator, the third in our 30-year Joint Venture history.
Monica has a strong background in bird habitat conservation. Most recently she served as the Assistant Director of Shorebird Habitat Management in Manomet’s Shorebird Recovery Program where she coordinated and led international workshops and projects in support of shorebird conservation and improved habitat management across the Americas. Prior to Manomet, Monica was a Conservation Project Director at Audubon California, supporting bird-friendly farming efforts within the Working Lands Program and the multi-organization Migratory Bird Conservation Partnership.
Across her career Monica has worked with diverse partners and stakeholders to move conservation forward–whether on local farms or across flyways. She is a 2017 Wilburforce Fellow in Conservation Science, a 2014 American Express and Independent Sector Next Generation of Nonprofit Leaders Fellow, and a Certified Nonprofit Professional.
I am honored and thrilled to join Pacific Birds as the U.S. Coordinator! I look forward to working with the staff, board, existing and future partners to keep wings beating and habitats thriving within the Pacific Region and across the flyways.
