Deputy Assistant Regional Director, USFWS Alaska Migratory Birds Program, Amy Pocewicz
With Alaska’s Migratory Bird Program, Amy leads and supports a diverse team dedicated to monitoring and research that informs bird conservation and management across six global flyways. Her career and passion are deeply rooted in landscape-scale science and conservation. Amy has held roles as a scientist, science coordinator, and partnership coordinator with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and an international conservation NGO. She began her career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South America. She earned her MS and PhD in Natural Resources from the University of Idaho, specializing in remote sensing and landscape ecology. Amy resides in Anchorage, Alaska with her family, where she enjoys hiking and berry picking.
