Umpqua Oak Partnership Liaison
Eric joined Pacific Birds in September 2022 as the Umpqua Oak Partnership Liaison. His focus in this role is to accelerate oak conservation in Douglas County, Oregon by implementing key strategies identified by Pacific Birds and the Umpqua Oak Partnership. He facilitates collaboration spanning numerous agencies and organizations. Additionally, he works to align private landowner priorities with conservation strategies to accomplish habitat projects throughout the Umpqua Basin.
Through the development of strong relationships, built on trust and commitment, Eric believes that conservation initiatives can move forward on a landscape scale. He is committed in developing a collaborative and inclusive environment that supports the development of long-term partnerships between private landowners, state and federal agencies, and local tribes to foster conservation and working landscapes opportunities.
Eric and his wife live on the on the iconic North Umpqua River just outside of Glide, Oregon. For the last 22 years Eric has work in natural resources throughout the Umpqua Basin with a passion for habitat restoration and bringing diverse groups of people together to better our environment. When not at work, Eric can be found hunting, fishing, hiking, gardening, and working on numerous projects around the family’s 4 ½ acre hobby farm.
