Umpqua Oak Partnership Liaison

As the Umpqua Oak Partnership Liaison, Eric supports the shared goals and priorities of active stakeholders to strengthen collaborative relationships focused on conserving and restoring oak habitat in Douglas County, Oregon. He increases field capacity, facilitates on-the-ground projects, and improves access to a suite of NRCS-leveraged conservation implementation options for local landowners. Eric provides technical assistance and promotes relevant science and knowledge to help accelerate the pace and scale of oak habitat initiatives that protect biodiversity and mitigate wildfire risk.
Eric concurrently serves as a Program Manager for the Oregon Youth Conservation Corps, where he has worked for nearly a decade to connect local marginalized youth and young adults with place-based environmental education and workforce training opportunities linked to natural resources career pathways.
Eric has dual bachelor's degrees in Natural Resources and Sustainability with a specialization in Forest Ecosystem Restoration, along with a minor in Botany from Oregon State University. Eric is deeply rooted and inspired by the diverse ecoregions of the Pacific Northwest. His spare time is mostly dedicated to collecting and propagating locally-adapted seeds and cuttings through his backyard business, Elder Oaks Native Plant Nursery, where he
collaborates with partners to help cultivate a local and regional restoration supply chain.
