Landbird Science Support
Jaime Stephens is the Director of Conservation at Klamath Bird Observatory. Starting in 2024, she began serving as Pacific Birds Landbird Science Support as part of her position. Jaime supports and facilitates the implementation of biological planning, evaluation, knowledge building, and the transfer of knowledge to enhance activities related to landbird conservation within the Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture Conservation Priorities.
Jaime is dedicated to the intersection of science and decision-making and measures scientific success not only in novel results and publications but also by the conservation impact of that work. She collaborates with a diverse array of partners to inform resource management strategies, improving outcomes for birds and ecosystems.
A resident of Medford in southern Oregon, Jaime has converted her urban front yard into a pollinator and bird-friendly orchard. There she grows strawberries, blueberries, figs, pears, and pomegranates and is currently nurturing three white oak seedlings planted by a California Scrub-Jay.
