Executive Director, Wildlife Habitat Canada

Jessica Burns assumed the Executive Director position of Wildlife Habitat Canada (WHC) in early 2025. She has been an integral part of WHC since 2019, playing a key role in the organization’s growth and impact. Jessica is committed to WHC's mission of conserving wildlife habitats through effective partnerships and wise conservation investments. Her leadership aims to foster a conservation ethic that values biodiversity and ecosystem health across Canada.
Driven by a passion for nature and a collaborative approach, Jessica believes achieving meaningful conservation outcomes requires strong leadership, strategic vision, and effective communication. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Queen’s University and brings extensive experience in executive leadership and grant administration in the private, government, and non-profit sectors.
Before joining WHC, Jessica worked in integrated watershed management at the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority for five years, further solidifying her commitment to conservation and sustainability.
