
Pacific Birds is thrilled to announce that Al Hodaly has joined our International Management Board. The Board is comprised of the U.S. and Canada Steering Committees, which together provide overall leadership, guidance, and governance so that the Joint Venture can accomplish its conservation goals.
Al Hodaly is the Director of the Canadian Wildlife Service – Pacific Region, within Environment and Climate Change Canada. He provides strategic leadership on wildlife conservation, species at risk, and migratory birds across British Columbia, working closely with Indigenous partners, provincial governments, NGOs, and international counterparts.
Having joined the Canadian Wildlife Service in late 2025, Al brings nearly 25 years of experience in the federal public service, including extensive experience in environmental assessment, habitat protection, and regulatory governance grounded in collaborative decision-making.
