Director of Conservation, British Columbia, Nature Conservancy of Canada
Hillary Page has dedicated 16 years to the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) as a Registered Professional Biologist. Her expertise lies in grassland ecology, restoration, and effectiveness monitoring. In her role, Hillary oversees planning, land securement, and stewardship in the Region, while also pioneering innovative approaches to articulate the impact of NCC's work in British Columbia. Hillary's conservation journey was sparked during a serendipitous encounter while conducting a rare plant survey in the Canadian Rockies. Impressed by NCC's properties and team, she officially joined in 2006. Armed with an undergraduate degree in conservation biology and a master's in wildlife management from the University of Alberta, Hillary's skills flourished during her tenure as an independent biologist in the Columbia Valley. At NCC, Hillary's mission is clear: she leverages local expertise and scientific knowledge to establish a network of conservation lands that safeguard wildlife habitats and ecological processes while fostering community engagement. Collaborating with a team of 18 staff members, Hillary plays a pivotal role in accelerating conservation efforts in British Columbia.
