Program Director, Wildlife Habitat Canada

Robin Lawson is the Program Director at Wildlife Habitat Canada. She joins the Pacific Birds Habitat Joint Venture bringing with her a deep passion for habitat conservation, rooted in a whole-landscape approach. Robin is a strong advocate for intergenerational and cross-sector collaboration, firmly believing that diverse voices and shared knowledge are essential to tackling the twin crises of biodiversity loss and climate change.
Originally from rural southwestern Ontario, Robin earned a degree in Environment and Sustainability from Acadia University. She began her conservation career with the Nature Conservancy of Canada holding positions in communications, development, volunteer management and visitor engagement. Robin later contributed to conservation research and policy development with the Centre for Land Conservation. Now based in Tiohtià:ke (Montreal), but working in conservation at a national scale, she continues to channel her expertise and commitment to conservation volunteering for the Canadian Committee for the IUCN.
Outside of conservation work, Robin enjoys exploring the outdoors with her family and immersing herself in Montreal’s vibrant indie rock scene.
