Pacific Region Director, Canadian Wildlife Service

Al Hodaly is the Director of the Canadian Wildlife Service – Pacific Region, within Environment and Climate Change Canada. He provides strategic leadership on wildlife conservation, species at risk, and migratory birds across British Columbia, working closely with Indigenous partners, provincial governments, NGOs, and international counterparts.
Having joined the Canadian Wildlife Service in late 2025, Al brings nearly 25 years of experience in the federal public service, including extensive experience in environmental assessment, habitat protection, and regulatory governance grounded in collaborative decision-making.
Outside of work, Al combines his passion for conservation with his enjoyment of walking in BC’s forests and along its coasts with his family.
